Lhotse speed climb: Andrzej hopes to set the record on 8000-er
The member of the Polish expedition led by Artur Haizer, Andrzej Bargiel, who set the record of Elbrus speed climb in 2010 (from Azau to the West top) (International Elbrus Race 2010), hopes to do the speed climb to Lhotse summit. The expedition project "Polish Winter Himalaism 2010-2015" is under the patronage of President Bronislav Komorowsky. The project also is supporting by Sport Ministry, General sponsor is PKN Orlen S.A.
All expedition members reached the place of C4 (about 7800 m), fixed ropes, and did the deposit with gear and food there. They had already set C1, C2 and C3. 4000 m fixed ropes.
Climbers are going to Dingboche village (4350 м) for the rest before the summit bid.
Now the record of Lhotse speed climb has Mexican Karlos Carsolio.
Perhaps, Andrzej can rech the top in 10 hrs... Hope for the good weather! Now it's nice. And the winds are not so strong in the first decade of October.
