Elbrus Race, участники и Тенцинг!: )

В 11.00 на традиционном месте открытия соревнований – станции Азау старой канатной дороги, собрались участники IX Международного забега Elbrus Race. Участники из Санкт-Петербурга и Владивостока, Белоруссии и США, Казахстана и Италии, а так же далекой солнечной Индии приняли приветствие организаторов Николая Шустрова и Владимира Шопина, президента ФАКБ Абдул-Халим Ольмезова и неожиданного, и очень приятного гостя космонавта Федора Юрчихина!

Vitaliy Shkel's new great achivement

Aug, 24, 2014 Russian athlete Vitaly Shkel run from Azau (~2400m) to Elbrus West top (5642m) and back in 4 hrs 39 min 17 sec!!

As far as we know it is the best result on Elbrus, when the time was fixed for round running up and down, so it is a real new record set at Elbrus slope for running up and down the Elbrus! Congratulation Vitaliy!!!

Vitaly's timing for ascent from Azau to the top was 3 hrs 28 min 41 sec. It's great result indeed!!!! It is quite close to incredible result of Andrzej Bargiel for the same route in 2010 - 3 hrs 23 min 37 sec.. So, 4 years Andrzej keeps absolute record in speed ascent of Elbrus.
Who and when will be able to break Andrzey’s record?
Will Kilian Jornet come to the Caucasus to fight with Andrzey and new Vitaliy's round run records??

2010, and 2013.

This year IX International Elbrus Race will be held on 8-12 September 2014.

July 22 1994, outstanding soviet climber and founder of Elbrus Race Vladimir Balyberdin was killed in car accident.
He was just 45...

Победители и рекордсмены International Elbrus Race (2005-2013)

Международные соревнования International Elbrus Race проводятся c 2005 года. За это время установлено немало мировых рекордов по скорости восхождения на Эльбрус, в том числе и те, которые до сих пор остаются непревзойденными.

Лучшее время трассы Экстрим, Азау (2400м) - Западная вершина (5642м), показал в 2010 г. польский спортсмен Анджей Баргель - 3:23:37. Пока никто не превзошел этот абсолютный мировой рекорд.

Лучшее время трассы Классика, Бочки (3710) - Зап. вершина (5642 м) показал в 2012 г. российский спортсмен Антон Прощенко - 2:28:02. И этот рекорд держится до сих пор!.

Лучшее время трассы Классика среди женщин показала в 2006 г. казахстанская спортсменка Светлана Шарипова - 3:21:29. Пока лучше Светы никто из девушек трассу не прошел!
